Welcome to Strictly Confidential - 9 pm till 11 pm eastern Monday through Friday

For too long the fundamentalist “Christian Right” has waged war on the GLBT community. While the “Christian Right” continues to block hate crime legislation, claiming it interferes with their freedom of religion, the Bush administration, cowering to their will, supports this outrage by threatening to veto legislation that would add the GLBT community to the current hate crime laws. Mind you that the “Christian Right” already enjoys protection under the said law.
GLBT individuals are routinely beaten, murdered, discharged by the military, fired and have their children taken from them at the hands of bigots who claim the moral authority to rid the world of dykes and fags. They are doing this with the full “wink and a nod” endorsement of fundamentalist Churches. Why? Some of the “faithful” do not approve of our relationships or of our commitments to one another. They scoff at the very idea that we could love a person of the same gender. This backwoods prejudice coupled with bibliolatry is the justification they use for their silence and or outright support regarding policies that allow attacks and discrimination to escalate. Gay and Lesbian children in public schools and GLBT individuals in all walks of life are just not going to take this anymore.
We are not standing idly while these fake Christians hide behind the skirts of the religion industry. It’s time that all religions embrace the maker’s message of radical inclusion and until they do, in my opinion, the Church, Mosque, Synagogue and Temple steps are covered in our blood. Welcome to the fight. Welcome to our hopes and dreams.
Hugs,

    Peter, Last Friday, on the show, you suggested we get some video of our AVER-NY Gay Vets marching in the Veterans Day Parade onto YouTube.  My trusty techi secretary, Tony Breton, did just that.  You can go to YouTube, type in "LGBT Veterans" that that leads right to the video.

    Hey Peter,
    What is this I heard that you did not know I have a weekend show? Geee, and I made a pass at you in my last show (kind-of).
    Love your show,
    Rick

    Dear Pete {peter godbold,–strictly confidential}
         Thanks so much for having Bonnie Kaye on your show.
    It was one of the most compelling sessions I had the privilege to tune in to in a long time.
    The traumatic issues involved with gay-straight relationships seldom come to the media fore, except in a vein of castigation, and the particiaption of the latter illuminated many of these issues, which many people have trouble dealing with, especially within the affected communities.
    I do hope you have her on again, because it helped me to sort out the issues involving my own connections to these Gay social issues: specifically, my father, on his deathbead at the age of 81, ultimately admitted that he was gay, but for the antecedent 40 years had made all of our lives a living hell, and, indeed, blamed my mother for all of his faults and failures.  More poignantly though, he utterly persecuted my brother, who, against his better instincts and caution, came out of the closet at age 18, serving henceforth as a glaring reminder of my father´s own feeling of shame and fear,  which kept him from realizing a life of fulfillment. Truly, the opposite was true. My brother, like Bonnie´s daughter, turned to drugs, and without anyone´s understanding or support. It is a wonder he made it so far–but then again, my brother did find his niche and find the circle of friends that would support his flamboyant ways.  But, it was never enough, and he imploded, eventually, once he realized the ¨eternal party¨was over, and he would have to face maturity without those flybynight friends, many of whom succumed to drug addiction, aids and other social maladies, and his body could no longer support so much abuse–he ballooned from a svelte 170 lbs at age 21, to over 400lbs at age 41 after going through detoxification procedures.
    Bonnie, thus, is a true hero to all of us, gays and straights alike, who need that sort of guidance in order to live with one another without judgment and condition, lest we all succumb to the fear and shame, and set back the evolution of civilization a few centuries.
    All I can say is that it is either the voice of reason, as embodied by BOnnie Kaye, or  welcome back the Inquisition.

    As for you, Peter, I noticed you were a bit more nervous than usual–did the subject matter rattle you just a bit?

    take care,
    fred martindelcampo
